about us

Founded in 2022 in Portland, Oregon by renowned Pacific Northwest fashion producer Andrew Faalogo, Le Pasefika Runway was created to celebrate and uplift the voices of BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, Pacific Islander & more designers—all under one roof. More than just a fashion show, it is a bold, community-driven platform that champions diversity, inclusivity, and self-expression in an industry that has often overlooked these voices.

At Le Pasefika Runway, the spotlight extends beyond designers to include models of all body types, abilities, and backgrounds. Over the past two years, we’ve proudly brought to life shows featuring first-time designers and models—many of whom never imagined themselves on a runway. What they found was not just visibility, but empowerment and community.

Now entering our fourth year, we are honored to welcome a new group of designers and models who are ready to take the stage. For some designers, this will be the first time debuting a full collection, and for many models, this will be their very first runway walk. The feedback has been powerful—designers and models alike are grateful for a platform that feels truly inclusive and transformative.

Le Pasefika Runway continues to pave a new path in fashion—one where representation isn’t a trend, but a foundation. This is a space where stories are told through style, identity is honored through design, and every person is celebrated exactly as they are.

Our first fashion October 22nd, 2022

Our first fashion show was located at Native Arts and Cultures Foundation - Center for Native Arts and Cultures. Le Pasefika Runway celebrated its inaugural fashion show at the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation - Center for Native Arts and Cultures, marking a significant milestone for the community. The event was a heartwarming collaboration, with family and friends playing pivotal roles in bringing the vision to life. Their support was invaluable, from organizing logistics to crafting stunning garments. In addition to the familial efforts, local fashion industry professionals lent their expertise, fostering a spirit of unity and creativity. Together, they showcased a vibrant blend of cultural heritage and contemporary design, highlighting the rich tapestry of Pacific Islander influences and the strength of community ties in the world of fashion.

our third show was on October 26th, 2024

The following year, Le Pasefika Runway was hosted at Avenue Portland, a vibrant and versatile venue that provided the perfect backdrop for the growing vision of the show. With a significant increase in both volunteers and sponsors, the overall production quality was elevated to new heights. From lighting and stage design to sound and backstage coordination, every element was executed with greater precision and professionalism, creating a seamless and immersive experience for all in attendance.

The energy of the event was fueled by a strong sense of community and collaboration. Artists, designers, models, and local supporters came together with a shared purpose—to uplift underrepresented voices in fashion and celebrate cultural expression. This collective effort not only enriched the event itself but also strengthened the foundation of Le Pasefika Runway as a movement for inclusivity, creativity, and empowerment. That year's show was a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when a community unites around a shared mission, leaving a lasting impact on everyone involved.

THE FASHION INDUSTRY IS CHANGING

Many individuals in the fashion industry remain underrepresented and often feel marginalized. They are not always afforded the same recognition or opportunities as their peers, simply because of their unique identities and perspectives. However, being different should never be a reason to be overlooked.

While the fashion industry is beginning to take meaningful steps toward greater diversity and inclusion, there is still much work to be done. We are committed to being part of that change by creating space, amplifying underrepresented voices, and fostering opportunities for those who have historically been excluded. Progress is only possible when we work together to build a more inclusive and equitable fashion community for all.
